The day started with a wakeup call from my team mates who couldn't contain their excitement at the prospect of what the day would hold for them. Once I'd managed to get out of bed it was great to have a shower in my own en-suite bathroom before heading downstairs for a team breakfast.
After breakfast we were taken to the course and our professional guided us to the driving range for his first look at what his team had to offer! An area had been reserved for Executive Golf clients to give us room for coaching. Once he had taken a look at our swings and short game it was off to the first tee for the start of the tournament.
During the first round, the team atmosphere was fantastic. Our professional was very supportive and didn't mind some light hearted banter when he occasionally hit a less than perfect shot.
Following the round we enjoyed a cold beer on the clubhouse terrace before being transported back to our accommodation where more cold beers were waiting for us in the fridge. That evening we chose to attend a meal organised by Executive Golf at a fantastic restaurant called Parrilla Natural where we were joined by most of the other teams. We had a great evening socialising and discussing the day's golf with some of the guys from the other teams. Following the meal we were collected and taken back to our villa or to the lively Vilamoura marina depending on our preference. I chose to join some of the others in the marina which was I decision I regretted the following morning!!
The following day we were at a different course for round two and we had another great day of golf and fun.
To summarise, a day at the Executive Golf Pro-Am is a great way to relax, play great golf courses with a PGA professional and there is plenty of opportunity to really enjoy yourself.
Be part of Executive Golf Pro-Am 2014 this September.
